Trading
PairTrader.com is a site dedicated to providing the active or professional trader unique education, mentoring, research, software, and practical tools for successful pair trading.

Personal Trading
Markets are masses of randomness that have brief periods of predictability in them. It is finding predictability that is the job of the professional trader. Coming from a quantitative education the focus for trading has always been about where statistical edges are in the market. Quite often, predictability comes from looking at multiple justifications for trades and compounded the probabilities for something to move in a direction. The focus for the personal trading has always started with a framework of pair trading and expanded to trading many strategies including portfolios, sectors, and market opens. The timeframe for trades can be as short as seconds, or as long as months.

Mentoring
Trading is very similar to running your own business. It has a high failure rate for new entrepreneurs but great benefits for those to succeed. Through mentorship the chances of success can be greatly increased. The learning curve can be quickened and the cost of the mistakes minimized. Some of the things covered through mentorship are:

  • Pair Trading Techniques
  • Creating and analyzing new pairs
  • Fundamental analysis
  • Tape reading
  • Portfolio trading
  • Multi way hedging strategies
  • Goal setting
  • Business plans
  • Trading plans
  • Psychology
  • Handling emotions

The office environment is open and each trader is put in with a group of traders to form a core team to tackle the markets together effectively every day. Through your team accountability is assured and no one gets left as an island to themselves. The markets are complex and vast, it is important to have a team to help you through the ups and downs of trading.

Each day a video is created of the markets so that the day can be relived with a pause button.  This is great to learn how to trade and relate it to the emotions of the moment that were experienced.
